Tech-preview 2

IMPORTANT UPDATE POSTED ON February 28, 11 AM, GMT (5 am in New York). There was a flaw in the sharing-code causing downloading clients to be disconnected after two minutes. This has been fixed in the currently posted version. If you got your copy before February 28, 11 AM, GMT, you need to redownload and replace your old .exe with the updated one.

The features added and bugs fixed in the second tech-preview are, in no particular order:

• Full file sharing
  • "normal" sharing
  • "Push files"-sharing
• Resume downloads
• Retry now actually works (the queries are properly reset)
• Passive downloading (if you are not behind a firewall and another user is, you can now get files from him)
• Possible to set the number of search-results to request from each server and see how many timeouts they have caused.
• Bitrate-filtering of search results (ie, don't get files with unwanted bitrates)
• Estimation of download speed and time remaining
• Use the optional LOCAL_ONLY-parameter to get results this year and not the next
• Remove the LOCAL_ONLY-parameter if a 404 "invalid search" is received
• Don't match files in an \incomplete folder.
• Don't search incessantly if the found-queue is already full
• Make it possible to select several entries in the Retry-list and don't loose selection when "retry" is clicked
• Fix the resize-when-scrolled bug in the list of networks
• A change in Maximum Concurrent Downloads should trigger a download
• Make it possible to force a download from the search queue
• Show number of timeouts for a specific napster server
• Switch to tick-based updating of the progress-meters instead of event-based
• Show the progress of uploads
• Don't write to the file being downloaded if nothing was read (for some reason the read-loop would sometimes not exit when it should - fixed )
• Read mp3-header info
• md5-hash files for sharing info (has been disabled since there is no consistent standard on how much of the file to hash and it takes bloody ages to do the hash)
• Cache fileinfo for faster sharing
• More info in the contents-context-menu (Show bitrate and duration)
• Filter-interface finalized
• Added stop-button to the browser buttons
• Send a command every two seconds instead of every three.
• Remove need for Borlndmm.dll
• First update of shared files triggers login.
• Detailed info in the icon tooltip.
• Statusbar provides some info
